It's not the drivers fault.... shit happens in races and MANY other drivers that were behind him said that he just landed wrong and rolled. It was the fact that the crowd was allowed so close to the track that was the issue, and ALWAYS has been in off-road racing, including rally racing. The permit also stated that if the racers came within 50ft of spectators, then they are to reduce their speed to 10MPH. But there is debate as to if the race sponsor that secured the permit, passed such information on to the drivers. All of the spectators that were killed were under 30 years of age.

I blame the sponsor (event coordinator), BLM, and any parties that were involved with issuing the permit. It's like having NASCAR with no bleachers... you know some dumb ass is going to get WAY too close. And honestly, to a degree I don't blame the spectators. Part of the rush is being close to the action, and even if it seems to be common sense to some of us to keep a distance, there should still be safety pre-cautions to avoid future disasters. I would not be the bit surprised to learn that the driver will discontinue racing. One could only imagine how distraught he must be.
